DENIC Services is prepared and accepting new format and old format

Starting on August 21. 2024 it is possible to use the new RDE Specifications.

From August 21. 2025 on, Spec 2025 can be used.

 

Between Aug. 21. 2024 and Aug. 20. 2025, DENIC Services is accepting both Formats.

Incremental goes Differential

As to the new rde Specifications, Section 4.1.21 the method changed from incrementals to differential.

4.1.21.3 [full/diff/hdl/hash] is replaced by "full" if the data represents a full dump, "diff" if the escrowed data represents a differential deposit, "hdl" if the data includes underlying contact data for each handle, or "hash" in the case of the text file containing the hash string(s);

Attention on Encryption

Please take care on 4.1.20 of the new RDE Specifications 2025

 

4.1.20 Compressed file(s) shall be encrypted using the DEA's public OpenPGP key and signed using the registrar's OpenPGP private key. The OpenPGP standard as defined in RFC9580 must be used for encryption and signing of compressed files. The algorithms referenced in this section are as defined in RFC9580. File(s) processed for encryption must not use ASCII Armor format as described in Section 6 of RFC9580. No later than eighteen (18) months after the publication of this document, the registrar and DEA shall only support the following algorithms:

  • 4.1.20.1 If OpenPGP Compression is implemented, one of the following algorithms must be used: (i) ZLIB or (ii) ZIP.
  •  
  • 4.1.20.2 One of the following algorithms must be used for public-key encryption: (i) X25519 or (ii) X448.
  •  
  • 4.1.20.3 One of the following algorithms must be used for symmetric encryption: (i) AES-128 or (ii) AES-256.
  •  
  • 4.1.20.4 One of the following algorithms must be used for digital signatures: (i) Ed25519 or (ii) Ed448.
  •  
  • 4.1.20.5 One of the following algorithms must be used for hashes in digital signatures: (i) SHA2-256 or (ii) SHA2-512.
